THA was selected by the Archdiocese of Portland to develop a Master Plan for the five-block Archdiocese complex and to restore and renovate the 1925 cathedral and courtyard.

St. Marys Cathedral is home to 300,000 parishioners in the region. This 15,000 square foot restoration and addition included the design and repositioning of every liturgical element as well as a major seismic upgrade, new mechanical and electrical systems and completely refurbished interior surfaces. The design and installation of new marble floors and a new wood ceiling with large hand-made pendant lights, and the coordination and the installation of major new works of art were part of the Cathedrals restoration.
