- Visual Arts Facility
University of Wyoming, Laramie
80,000 sf
Estimated Completion in 2011
The Department of Art at the University of Wyoming supports the creative and cultural development of students within the University and contributes to the cultural life of Wyoming through dynamic exhibition, education, and outreach programs. The new building will replace overcrowded and out-of-date facilities, providing students and faculty members with the resources necessary to facilitate their exploration in the visual arts.
The new 80.000 sf Visual Arts Facility will consolidate the fine arts program from its current locations throughout the campus. The building will include studios for art history, ceramics, sculpture, painting, small metals, printmaking and digital media. Incorporating state-of-the-art technology, the new facility will provide a safe environment for all users, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote community alliances.
The project will adhere to the President's Commitment for Climate Change in meeting or exceeding LEED Silver level. It is currently on track to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
