Lweis & Clark College, Portland, OR
9,000 sf expansion, 12,000 sf renovation/restoration
Completed in 2003
Albany Hall and Quadrangle were built in 1929 on the former Frank Estate, now Lewis & Clark College. As a result of this renovation and expansion, the complex of buildings now stands as the functional and symbolic heart of the academic campus. The complex houses the offices of the Dean of the College, the Overseas Studies Office, Academic Planning, the Math Center, the Writing Center and other campus programs. THA worked closely with the College during the programming phase to thoroughly evaluate its student support services needs and determine how to best utilize the Quadrangle and the adjacent buildings to address those needs.
In addition to becoming the centralized location for a variety of academic support services, Albany Quadrangle was a key venue for public programs in commemoration of the Lewis and Clark Expedition Bicentennial.
