Jane Barker has provided leadership on a variety of projects during her 20-year professional career. Since joining THA in 1999, she has become a central design team member on educational, cultural and library projects, including the Campbell Center for the Performing Arts for Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton, California; Oregon Shakespeare New Theatre in Ashland, Oregon; and the Philip Assembly Hall for University of Washington, Tacoma.
Jane is an expert in academic and performing arts building programming. Working closely with the client and project team, she completed detailed project programs on four significant buildings for the University of Washington Tacoma's campus. In addition, Jane has managed all of THA's performing arts centers.
Jane is a specialist in sustainable design practices and leads THA's Sustainable Design Committee and Continuing Education program. Jane received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon. Prior to joining THA, Barker worked for SRG Partnership and SERA Architects in Portland. As an Associate with SRG, she served as project architect on several laboratory renovations for the UCSF and OHSU Medical Schools. While working at SERA Architects, was project architect on the AIA award-winning City of Portland BES Water Quality Lab.
